amanda and i had the fabulous idea that we should all post recipes of our favourite university/college food that we like to make. (this could also include party food, drink mixes, whatever) this is because we all love food, miss gabby's cooking, and don't want our friends to starve.
if you dont have any recipes don't worry. just read ours and make sure to try them!
my first one is called: crunchy chicken and lime noodle salad
it's a good one if you don't have access to much cooking stuff. its supposed to be cold. its refreshing.
-1 skinless, boneless chicken breast (you can buy them already cooked)
-two big handfuls of fresh beansprouts
-2-4 green onions, shredded
-1/2 inch fresh root ginger, peeled and chopped
-garlic. do i need to say how much?
-snow peas (or celery/water chestnuts.. something crunchy)
-5 ounces of instant chinese noodles
-boiling water
-1/2 red chili
-soy sauce
-lime juice
-chili garlic sauce of some kind..(thats what i used instead of putting garlic in) or like hoisin sauce or something tasty.. actually you probably dont even need it)
1. break the noodles into a bowl or something. pour in boiling water and cover for 5-10mins
2. shred the chicken so its in long thin pieces
3. mix the chicken, beansprouts, snow peas, green onions, ginger, garlic, and chili. drain noodles when ready and add these
4. mix together soy sauce and your other choice tasty sauce and pour on mixture. mix it around. then add lime juice.
eat with chopsticks if coordinated.
