Ingredients:
Strata:
20+ slices egg bread/white bread, crusts removed
¼ cup butter, softened
3tbsp granulated sugar
½ tsp cinnamon
1 ½ cups milk
4 eggs
To Sprinkle:
1 tbsp granulated sugar
½ tsp cinnamon
Apple Topping:
2/3 cup maple syrup
½ cup orange juice
¼ cup brown sugar, packed
2tbsp butter (optional)
5 apples – peeled & thinly sliced
1tbsp cornstarch (dissolved in water)
Directions:
-Preheat oven 350°F (180°C)
-Grease 9x12 inch baking dish (i use a glass one)
-For the strata, mix together butter, sugar and cinnamon, and spread on each of the bread slices to make ‘sandwiches’. Cut each diagonally twice to make small triangles. Arrange triangles in baking dish until it is filled.
-Whisk eggs and milk until blended and pour over dish. Sprinkle over sugar and cinnamon.
--Bake for 45 mins. Let stand for 10 mins. (At this point dish can be covered and refrigerated overnight if desired.)
-For the topping, mix together maple syrup, orange juice, and brown sugar.
-Heat butter in a pan and pour in the topping. Bring to a boil and boil for 1min. Reduce heat and add apples and cornstarch. Let simmer, stirring frequently, on low heat until it reaches syrup-like consistency.
-Serve sections of the warm toast on plates and pour over syrup and apples.
-proceed to have an earth-shattering orgasm.
